Hi Julie, I don’t know if you can help me or not-
I am currently in a terrible place financially. My farm will be foreclosed on in the next few months. It has been a very difficult road the past two years.
I lost my job at a RV dealership where I was the sales/manager after my boss passed away suddenly. I was at the top of my game being the best salesperson in the country for two of the top RV manufacturers year after year. I did land a midwest sales rep position for a top of the line manufacturer. But, the RV industry was in a huge downslide and still is to this day. I have not had a “real job” since then. I have been working for CPC wich is a merchant processing company as an account executive but continual cold calling is a very hard thing to do not to mention the gas expense.
My daughter is also in for the fight of her life trying to get sole custody of her daughter from the father who was beating her. They were never married and he never worked or paid for anything. We are currently up to $10,000 in legal fees and we haven’t even gone to court yet. I was able to pay for this only because my daughter was hit by a semi truck and totaled my car on her way home from work. She is currently working at Walmart. She is a graduate from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She has a biology degree and was om track to be a vet, but she became pregant in the spring of her last year. I am thankful that she did graduate, but seeing her work third shift at Walmart is not why I paid $35,000 a year for tuition!
My Alpaca business has been put on hold being that I am the one that has to watch my granddaughter while my daughter sleeps and then try to do some cold calling in between the Alpacas, granddaughter, dogs, cats and trying to find a “real career job” again. Employment in Illinois is very very low! I have applied for any kind of job, but I would really like to have a career again.
I would greatly appreciate any ideas that you might have!
Thank you,
Barbara Dalton
Wishing U Well Alpacas
